Protect Your Space with Bulletproof Windows

The centerpiece of any effective bulletproof barrier system is a carefully selected choice of bulletproof glass. Your choice of bulletproof glass impacts your protection level, as much as your choice of ballistic doors, frames and accessories like talk thru ports (also called speak thru ports).

Total Security Solutions offers a full line of bullet-resistant glazing options including acrylic, polycarbonate, glass clad polycarbonate, and insulated glass.

Our products are tested to UL Protection Levels 1-8, providing ballistic protection ranging from a 9mm all the way to a 12 Gauge. When determining your project's security requirements, you'll need to decide which glazing is right for your specific risk factors, workplace design, and daily operations. From teller windows at financial institutions to ballistic doors and windows at schools and government facilities, Total Security Solutions will custom develop bulletproof systems for any building while maintaining the aesthetics of the space.

Levels of Protection

The UL 752 standard sets the bar for bulletproof glass ratings. The official standard has 10 levels; we manufacture Levels 1 through 8, which are the most common levels of protection.

We work with meticulous third-party vendors to test our bulletproof glass windows to this standard, ensuring all of our products will perform under fire.

Bulletproof Glass Window Materials

At TSS, there are four main types of bulletproof glass, also called glazing:

mono-acrylic

Acrylic

Monolithic acrylic bulletproof windows are made from specially-manufactured acrylic materials. This offers a high level of protection at UL Levels 1 and 2 while maintaining an affordable cost.

laminated-poly

Polycarbonate and Laminated Polycarbonate

One of the most resilient and versatile types of bulletproof glazing on the market, polycarbonate is made with mar-resistant polycarbonate, acrylic, and PVB film. This composition offers protection at UL Levels 1 through 3.

glass-clad-poly

Glass-Clad Polycarbonate

A high-performance glazing made from glass, polycarbonate, and PVB film, GCP glazing offers comprehensive protection in UL Levels 1 through 8.

insulated-glass

Insulated Glass

Made from multiple layers of carefully-engineered glass and PVB film that seal in an air gap so your facility remains protected from the elements—and any threats. Insulated Glass bulletproof windows are available in UL Levels 1 through 8.

TSS Can Create Brilliant, Custom Ballistic Windows

TSS has extensive fabrication capacity, giving us the unique capability to bring your ballistic window project to life. We design, engineer, and manufacture:

  • Bulletproof windows
  • Bulletproof glass walls
  • Bulletproof transaction windows
  • Bulletproof glass sidelites
  • Backglazing (a bulletproof glass layer
that fits over existing, non-rated windows)

We also have custom capabilities that we put to work for our customers, creating bulletproof windows that are so elegant, most people hardly realize they’re even there.

Complete Your Bulletproof Glass Window Project with Framing and Accessories

Most bulletproof glass is thicker and heavier than standard glass. This means you may need special frames to support the weight of their bulletproof glass windows, as well as accessories like deal trays, speak thrus, and package passers.

TSS is proud to offer end-to-end service, taking care of everything for you, at every stage of the project. This includes consulting, designing, engineering, fabrication, and installation. In fact, we make everything on-site and to-order in our 65,000 square foot facilities in Fowlerville, Michigan.

How Much Do Bulletproof Windows Cost?

On its own, bulletproof glass can cost anywhere from $45 to $80 per square foot. However, the cost of an entire bulletproof glass window project includes more than just a simple cost per square foot.
In fact, a bulletproof window project depends on multiple factors, including:

  • The type of bulletproof glass used
  • The size and scope of your project
  • Whether you need framing and accessories
  • Delivery and installation fees
  • And other costs, depending on the project
