Ballistic protection for when you need Safety + Aesthetics™
Bulletproof glass is a practical, powerful way to add a layer of ballistic protection to your facility, organization, or business. Bulletproof glass is available in multiple compositions and levels of protection. This makes it an incredibly versatile ballistic material; use ballistic glass to create windows, walls of glass, transaction windows, sidelites, and more. And if you can’t alter your windows, use bulletproof glass to add a layer of protection (called backglazing) behind the existing glass.
The UL 752 standard sets the bar for bulletproof glass ratings. The official standard has 10 levels; we manufacture Levels 1 through 8, which are the level of protection most common in commercial, education, and religious settings.
We work with meticulous third-party vendors to ensure our bulletproof glass windows are tested to this standard, ensuring all of our products will perform under fire.
There are four main types of bulletproof glass on the market today
Made of a specially-fabricated, high-strength acrylic, this type of ballistic glass is one of the most common. It offers protection against multiple types of handgun fire at UL 752 Levels 1 and 2. Acrylic bulletproof glass is also one of the most affordable, making it a practical choice for many retail establishments.
Ballistic polycarbonate is made of multiple layers of special bullet-resistant materials, including acrylic, polycarbonate, special adhesives, and PVB film. This allows polycarbonate bulletproof glass to “catch” a bullet without shattering. Polycarbonate protects from a variety of handgun fire and is tested to UL Levels 1, 2, and 3.
Glass-clad polycarbonate is one of the strongest and most durable types of bulletproof glass available. It’s made of many carefully-fabricated layers that include acrylic, polycarbonate, glass, and PVB film. Together, these layers offer protection up to UL Level 8, which includes protection from handgun and rifle fire.
Ballistic insulated glass is an excellent product for bulletproof exterior windows. Made of many layers of glass, special film, and air gaps, bulletproof insulated glass is tested to UL Levels 1 and 3.
